PLANT OF THE MONTH - The ‘Octopus Aloe’

Aloe Vera’s Spiky Cousin, The Aloe Arborescens

Adam Robinson Design has used this hardy succulent in many of our Sydney gardens. It’s a species of flowering succulents perennial plant. It shares it’s genus with the well known Aloe vera.

What a garden often needs is well planned colour and texture, and this aloe provides both. The beautiful waxy green colour, spiked edges and brilliant red flower give character and depth to any gardens and landscapes.

Aloe Arborescens gives off it’s brilliant flower spike in the cooler months. Winter is the best time to cultivate this plant and the time it grows best. It grows best in coastal regions of Australia.

If you’re thinking about adding some new plants to your garden give this aloe a go.  It works great in a table plot by itself, as a cluster in your garden bed or to add texture when underplanting.
