QUEENS PARK
MOROCCAN RIAD

Residential Landscape Garden DESIGN PROJECT

_

This glorious Moroccan riad inspired garden sits within the grounds of a traditional house on a grand scale with large, decorative arches that are the foundation of its architecture. We incorporated elements like fountains, lush greenery, vibrant colours, and intricate patterns, marrying the ethos of tradition with contemporary flair.

The recessed area behind the archways is painted a deep crushed raspberry invigorating a bold and elegant backdrop for plants, pots and furniture.

Palms were planted so their strappy foliage create a sense of ceiling and enclosure, providing movement and dappled shade to the highly functionals areas that are drenched in sunshine.

The central water feature is a quintessential Moroccan garden element, evoking a sense of coolness and tranquillity. Incorporating the intricate pattern of the mosaic tiles and lattice woodwork on top of the surrounding fence add to a sense of artistry and sophistication.

Rich, authentic materials are used throughout that lightly contrast with the checkerboard paving. There are several breakout seating areas with low side tables plus large dining settings for relaxation and entertaining.

The plant palette includes Euphorbia ingens, Berlettina sordida, Euphorbia 'Diamond Frost', Dracaena draco, Cupressus sempervirens, Howea forsteriana, Erigeron karvinskianus
