Poltrona Frau
Arrives in Australia
Sought-after Italian brand Poltrona Frau is now available through Australian furniture and design company Mobilia. Founded in 1912, Poltrona Frau is a high-end ‘Made in Italy’ furniture brand and will have a dedicated space in Mobilia’s new Melbourne showroom, set to open soon.
Poltrona Frau has recently launched its first outdoor living collections based on the concept of ‘Boundless Living’ as part of Milan Design Week. “Poltrona Frau delivers a type of luxury that cannot be limited in any way. Hence our interpretation of Boundless Living, which is not just about functional borderless living - between outside and inside, between the public and private sphere, between residential and contract - but about interpreting space in a personal way. With our customisation options, we will be able to meet the needs of designers and offer more than just a product,” explains Poltrona Frau’s CEO Nicola Coropulis.
The first two debut outdoor collections are ‘The Secret Garden’ by Roberto Lazzeroni and ‘Solaria' by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba.
The Secret Garden Collection
The Secret Garden collection is designed to adapt dining and relaxation areas to the most diverse contexts - from verandas to winter gardens or from private terraces to the decks of yachts and ships. Part of Poltrona Frau’s Boundless Living Outdoor Collections, The Secret Garden is a collection of outdoor furnishing with an elegant and sophisticated style, characterised by the painstaking workmanship of solid teak in a natural finish with organic and tapered lines. Designed by Roberto Lazzeroni, it offers outdoor solutions with an attention to detail that merges Scandinavian taste with Made in Italy design.
Solaria Collection
Also part of the Boundless Living Outdoor Collections by Poltrona Frau, the Solaria collection draws inspiration from a breezy lifestyle typical of Mediterranean culture. The collection offers highly versatile options for the same outdoor living and lifestyle options as The Secret Garden Collection.
Designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, Solaria features comfortable two- and three-seater outdoor sofas and numerous other modular units, handcrafted outdoor armchairs, available with or without armrests, and two outdoor side tables in square and rectangular versions.
The collection is characterised by soft seating elements with large cushions and hand-woven rope textures. It consists of just three materials - stainless steel, rope and fabric cushions. Everything can be taken apart easily and re-assembled to create ever-changing furniture-scaping, in linear or island configurations.
