Wonderground
Planthunter’s new title
With long established magazine titles closing down all over the place, you could say that launching a new mag is risky business. There’s something in the air, risk and rectification, first Annabelle Hickson’s GALAH launched late last year and now Planthunter Founder, Georgina Reid plans to launch WONDERGROUND in March, 2021.
Actually, George says it’s a ‘journal’ not a magazine….”Wonderground is created to be read and re-read, not flicked through once and shuffled into a shelf.”
“It may sound strange to say this, but I have a very strong sense that this time of upheaval and change is a great time to take risks………..Traditional publishing models are broken, like many ways of doing business are broken. I am interested in growing a publishing model that is viable – not just financially, but morally, environmentally, socially. It’s a risk, yes. But what else should I be doing right now?” – Georgina Reid.
Like many of us who are concerned for the environment and the future of the planet and all it’s many species, George’s way of ‘dealing’ is trying to keep moving and not be paralysed by fear but rather be an activist for positive change through her many gifts and talents. As an incredible writer and founder/producer of the Planthunter she reconnects us to each other and the plant world, viscerally through her art, bringing forth the love and sacred feels we innately have within ourselves for nature in all its many forms.
