Adam Robinson Design was closed for business on Friday 20th September 2019.  My team and I proudly took part in Greta Thunberg’s #fridaysforfuture school climate strike and marched with 80,000 others from The Domain to Hyde Park.

In the days leading up to Friday's School Climate Strike protest a group of more than 2800 Australian and global businesses pledged to support worker participation in the march launching the Not Business As Usual campaign, including Adam Robinson Design.

The Not Business as Usual campaign was created by ethical and sustainability-focused retail superannuation fund Future Super to offer support for workers to take part in the strike. While approximately 20 businesses, including ground-breaking tech company Atlassian were initially approached and offered their support that figure quickly grew to include major banks, small businesses, breweries and leading tech startups.

It’s not business as usual for the world’s children to skip school to get adults to pay attention to the climate crisis. It’s not business as usual for those children to have to ask the adults to skip work. It’s not business as usual for citizens to strike to get governments to make meaningful commitments to climate action.

We need to listen to the overwhelming scientific evidence that climate change is upon us and we only have a small window of opportunity to act and make a difference for our children’s future and the future of all life as we know it on our beautiful planet.
