Picture Perfect Paradise
Bondi Landscape Design Project
A young family with two children and Betsy the black lab live together happily in this gorgeous semi-detached cottage by the sea in Bondi.
We worked on updating the garden while the house was being renovated so there was a large focus on both areas merging flawlessly in the design. Both the interior and exterior seem to connect effortlessly, although a lot of effort went into the process!
There is a wonderful seaside, casual style throughout the whole home with the use of materials that are so conducive to the beachy lifestyle including a relaxed planting scheme.
Olive trees, Bird of Paradise, Banksia and Bamboo were planted, using larger specimens so the garden would look immediately established.
An outdoor kitchen with built-in BBQ and concrete bench top for the whole family to use on a regular basis, however, it works a dream for entertaining larger groups of friends because it has the large kitchen bench with plenty of storage underneath.
Even though neighbours are very close, the deep foliage of the perimeter planting shelter and protect the entire garden, with lush Bamboo enveloping the living room, filtering green-tinged dappled sunlight and shade.
A large, crisp white umbrella finishes off the space by providing essential shade to this picture-perfect paradise!
Thank you InsideOut Magazine for featuring the house in this month’s issue.
